Early Help responds to the emerging needs of children and their families, focusing on building their resilience and providing support at a time when evidence indicates that support can have the most impact. Coventry continues to invest in the Early Help Service and is proud of the work that is delivered by a multi-agency team from the 8 Family Hubs located in the communities across the city. We are dedicated to helping children, young people, and families build resilience and thrive. By collaborating with the Supporting Families Teams, Social Care Teams and a wide range of partners, we will ensure that families receive the right help at the right time by the right people.

Coventry was one of the 15 Local Authorities that were selected to be a ‘trailblazer’. We will share our learning and best practice with other Local Authorities across the UK. We will continue to lead the way and be able to evidence the difference we make to children's and families' lives.

What is the job role?

To provide support to children, young people and their families through the delivery of a varied family support offer to improve outcomes for children aligned to the Supporting Families Programme. Your role will be to undertake Early Help assessments and act as the lead practitioner, to assess, co-ordinate, plan and deliver integrated and intense family support as part of a multi-agency Early Help plan. You will be based in one of our Family Hubs.

We are holding an informal open evening on 28 July at Aspire Family Hub, CV1 2SF, from 5:30pm –7pm. You are very welcome to drop in to learn more about this role and to meet the team - no need to book. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and speak directly with our Supporting Families Practitioners.

Currently, we have the following vacancies:

  • 3 x 37 hr permanent posts
  • 4 x 37 hr fixed-term posts
  • 1 x 18.5 hr permanent post

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such, appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You will be able to see the life of a child using the lens of a ‘whole family approach’, being outcome-focused. You will be able to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds in a variety of environments, including their homes.
