Coventry City Council's ICT & Digital service is a busy, vibrant, and innovative service responsible for delivering key enabling and transformational services for the wider organisation, city, and external partners. In a nutshell, we provide the organisation with the digital technology, be that laptops or systems, to enable people to do their jobs in a modern and efficient way. We support over 5500 corporate users and their PCs, roughly 400 servers, roughly 300 systems, and all the relevant infrastructure components that make all the above work and remain secure. In addition to this, we offer ICT support services to a significant number of school staff. Our work spreads beyond the Council and to the wider City and region through our Digital Coventry strategy. This strategy looks outside of the organisation and to how digital technology and innovation promote Coventry as a place to live, learn, work, innovate, and do business. This strategy is directly linked with the Council Plan and supports many of the vision statements aligned with Globally connected, Locally committed, and Delivering our priorities.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Support Officer on a fixed-term basis to support the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects. In this role, you will support the Digital Project Manager by providing administrative and logistical support to projects, coordinating activities, and maintaining documentation. This role will be critical in the development and delivery of our digital offer to families in Coventry, as we seek to ensure that all families can access the right help at the right time, as we take a Families First approach to all that we do. This also includes creating accessible and responsible digital pathways of support for our multi-agency partnership, helping to reduce duplication and increase efficiency in how we deliver services to residents of Coventry. This is an exciting time to join this programme, which is a core component of our Families First Partnership programme and our Best Start Family hub offer, and to support our ambitious digital transformation programme to deliver at pace a range of digital solutions into our customer service facing platforms. The role also involves ensuring smooth communication between internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to help facilitate efficient project delivery.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual with a track record of supporting the delivery of projects successfully. You will bring:
- Proven ability in project planning, resourcing, and delivery coordination across multiple workstreams.
- Experience of coordinating project meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting notes for distribution.
- Strong analytical skills to undertake data collection and analysis, drawing conclusions and presenting findings.
- Experience of working with team members to ensure project activities are completed on time.
- Experience of working in a matrix management project environment.
- A good understanding of financial management within projects and programmes.
- Undertaking subject matter research, benchmarking, and process mapping to develop understanding of the current situation.
You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance competing priorities, and is passionate about delivering meaningful change. This is a hybrid role, typically 2-3 days per week onsite.
