The cleaner/store person will work within the integrated community equipment service to process disability equipment which is delivered to and returned from the community. The role includes the decontamination of equipment through manual cleaning or use of cleaning machines. Returned equipment can range from small aids to large pieces that must be taken apart before cleaning and then reassembled once dry and ready for bagging.

The cleaner/store person will also work in the warehouse to process equipment delivered from external suppliers or collected by those who have ordered it. The role includes the assembly, bagging, storing, and picking of equipment from various locations around the warehouse. They will identify equipment that is scrap or requires maintenance and will complete some maintenance tasks to enable the service to recycle equipment for reuse.

The cleaner/store person will need to follow policies and procedures to ensure health and safety and the smooth running of processes that are in place.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within a warehouse environment and working within a team. Good communication is essential as you will be communicating with various colleagues and members of the public. The successful candidate will assemble, take apart and transfer equipment within the warehouse and decontamination areas. They will clean equipment both manually and via the use of machinery. Such tasks require good manual handling knowledge and skills and the ability to follow health and safety policies and procedures. Basic computer, numeracy and literacy skills are required. The nature of the role can be manually tasking and in a busy environment; therefore the ability to work off your own initiative is required.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). All candidates must have the right to work in the UK. We are not offering sponsorship for this role.
