Our Insurance Services Team is a dynamic division responsible for delivering risk management and insurance services to support the people of Coventry. We offer apprenticeships to develop long‑term careers within the Council.

What is the job role?

  • Assist the Insurance Team in ensuring the Council has an effective insurance programme and an efficient claims handling service.
  • Investigate insurance claims made by and against the Council from first notification to settlement negotiation.
  • Provide professional advice on liability, insurance cover, and claims to internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, and management of insurable risks; raise awareness of risks with departments and support them in developing mitigation solutions.
  • Help improve internal processes within Council Departments to increase efficiency and level of service.

Apprenticeship Details

  • Fixed‑term contract for 30 months in line with the length of the apprenticeship training.
  • Level 4 Apprenticeship in Insurance.

  • Pre‑interview and assessment (face‑to‑face): 6th – 24th July 2026.
  • Interview dates: 20th July – 7th August 2026.
  • Apprentices start week commencing 7th September 2026.
