We are looking to appoint a professional, organised and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of Tiverton School’s administration office. This is a varied and rewarding role which includes providing administrative support, assisting with HR processes, supporting first aid provision and acting as the first point of contact for basic IT support within the school.
We are seeking a motivated and approachable individual with strong administrative and communication skills who can work effectively as part of a team while also managing their own workload independently. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and committed to supporting the wider school community.
- Experience working in an administrative role
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to deal confidently and professionally with telephone and face-to-face enquiries
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities within a school environment
- The ability to remain calm and organised in busy situations
- A flexible and proactive approach to supporting the wider school team
- Experience of HR administration, recruitment support, maintaining records such as the Single Central Record (SCR), or working within a school environment would be desirable but not essential.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre-employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
