About The Team We Are Recruiting To
The Community Safety Team at Coventry City Council plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. What is the job role?
We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Community Wardens. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide a reassuring uniformed patrol presence in the city, addressing concerns such as anti-social behaviour (ASB), and environmental crime through targeted operations and patrols in areas of most need. Community Wardens are a valued and flexible resource, supporting organisational efforts to help communities thrive.
As a Community Warden, you will actively focus on addressing concerns about ASB by deploying uniformed officers to specific geographical locations where current or emerging issues have been identified. Through positive community engagement, education, and enforcement, if necessary, you will play a critical role in improving the quality of life for residents affected by these challenges. Collaborating closely with key partners, the team works to support vulnerable residents and enhance the overall safety and well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to provide a visible and reassuring presence.
- Address concerns regarding crime, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and environmental crime.
- Engage with communities through positive interactions and educational initiatives.
- Enforce laws and regulations where necessary to address persistent issues.
- Assist in targeted operations to address emerging concerns in specific locations.
- Work collaboratively with key partners to support vulnerable residents.
- Report findings and provide regular updates on community concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of patrols and interventions.
This role involves shift work, including weekends. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
