Class Teacher - St Christopher Primary School

What is the job role? Start Date: 1st September 2026 Class Teacher: This is an exciting opportunity to join a school where teachers can focus on what matters most: teaching. Our motto, Aim High, underpins everything we do—for our pupils and for our staff. We are a highly organised school with clear systems, strong routines and consistently exemplary pupil behaviour. This means our classrooms are calm, purposeful and focused—allowing teachers to teach well and pupils to learn exceptionally well. Our pupils are expected to work hard and take pride in their learning. At the same time, we believe school should be a place where children are happy, engaged and enjoy what they are learning. We get the balance right—high expectations, delivered in a positive and purposeful environment. Just as importantly, we are a school with a genuinely happy and committed staff team. Staff morale is strong because expectations are clear, support is consistent and everyone is pulling in the same direction. People enjoy working here—and that matters. Our leadership team is highly visible and hands‑on. We expect a great deal from our staff, and we hold ourselves to the same high standards. Leaders are present, supportive and actively involved in the life of the school—this is not a place where expectations sit on paper.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a talented ECT and an experienced teacher – ideally for EY and KS2 – although we can be flexible for the right candidate.

Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under‑represented, we encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply. This does not prevent individuals with or without other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post. Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references. Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre‑employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
