Coventry Bereavement Service work tirelessly to deliver the highest possible standards of service to all bereaved families at their time of need. We are responsible for the provision of burial across 6 cemeteries located city-wide, the management of Canley Crematorium and Gardens of Remembrance, as well as various other sundry services, including the provision of Public Health Funerals and post‑cremation memorials. Through the hard work, commitment and dedication of our skilled team of colleagues, we can deliver a highly demanding service demonstrating both empathy and compassion. What is the job role?
Our casual driver bearers, under the general direction of the funeral director, will assist in the delivery of funeral services at the highest standard. Duties include:
- Preparing and ensuring the cleanliness of vehicles.
- Being part of the funeral service by bearing the coffin.
- Driving company vehicles on the day of funerals, including hearses and limousines.
- Assisting the funeral director with pre‑funeral checks.
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

We are looking for casual driver bearers to join our team, and someone who can make a real difference to our client families at a very difficult time in their lives. Previous experience within the funeral sector will be advantageous. However, full training will be given. This advert will close once we have received a sufficient number of applications.
