Waste is a busy operational department that provides essential services to the residents of Coventry, Nuneaton & Bedworth and Commercial. We conduct over 210,000 collections a week on an alternate weekly collection system in Coventry alone, collecting domestic waste.

We have several vacancies for Waste Refuse Collectors to work with our diverse residents and communities across Coventry, Nuneaton & Bedworth, as well as Commercial Services. We are offering full-time, fixed-term contracts (6 months) for individuals interested in joining our team as Refuse Collectors. We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. At present, we have very few women and people from minority ethnic backgrounds in our team, and we would like this to change. We therefore strongly encourage applications from these groups. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful, you will need to:
- be physically fit (to be able to walk up to and in excess of 12 miles per day, in all weathers)
- be hard working
- understand Health & Safety instructions in English; however, English does not have to be your first language.

- Domestic - Shifts start at 7 am (Tuesday to Friday) 37 hrs per week.
- NBBC – Shifts start 6.30 am (Monday to Friday) 37 hrs per week.
