APRENTICE TEACHING ASSISTANT REQUIRED - TERM TIME ONLY (37 HOURS PER WEEK). Apprentices at Coventry City Council are paid in line with the applicable National Minimum Wage for apprentices, or higher depending on the role. Pro rata salary: £13,393 (under 19), £18,164 (over 19), £21,278 (over 21). Apprenticeship Period: Up to 24 months.

Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant.

Location and School Information: Sherbourne Fields is an outstanding all‑age special school for pupils with a broad spectrum of needs including physical disabilities, medical conditions and learning needs. The apprentice will be supported by a team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher and pupils on a daily basis.
  • Provide 1‑1 support, group support and personal care duties.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons and ensure all pupils have the correct resources.
  • Engage with young people, work using your own initiative, and maintain a friendly, supportive personality.
