We are running our Summer Internship Programme again in 2026. This is a great opportunity to gain some hands-on, paid work experience in our Nuneaton branch. This is a face-to-face role based in one of our friendly branches, talking with and supporting our customers over the counter.
In the programme at one of our branches, the responsibilities include:
- Meeting our members face-to-face, getting to know them and providing them with excellent customer service
- Handling their transactions accurately
- Updating their account records and dealing with any questions or queries
We want you to get the most out of your internship and will provide you with enough training so you have the knowledge and skills to succeed in your role. Your first week will involve you learning all about Coventry Building Society, our processes and how we work. You will then put your knowledge into practice with the support of a buddy who will be on hand to answer any questions along the way. Your manager will also provide you with regular feedback and support to make sure you are getting the most out of your programme.
Our Internship Programmes will start on Monday 20th July and will run until Friday 28th of August working full time Monday to Friday. This is a great opportunity to understand how we work and some of our interns have gone on to secure part-time Saturday roles to fit around their study at the end of the programme.
We are looking for individuals who share our values and our passion for putting people first. If you like building relationships with new people, have good attention to detail and like learning new things, this could be the programme for you. You will need to have a positive, friendly attitude and excellent communication skills. We are looking for people who have the confidence to engage with a diverse variety of people, who are customer-focused and have the ability to be accurate and deal with our customers' transactions.
It is important you do not have any more than a couple of days holiday during this time, with none of this during the first week, as these are the key training days. The programme is only available to students studying for the first time in years 12 or 13 at college or 6th form, who have not completed the programme previously.
Our values are:
- Caring - Helpful, Thoughtful, Kind
- Ambitious - Aspirational, Brave, Agile
- Responsible - Ethical, Reliable, Trusted
- Empowering - Inspiring, Enabling, Confident
- Straightforward - Simple, Easy, Clear
Please consider these values when answering your application questions.
The selection process will involve a review of your CV and application questions, a telephone interview and a competency interview with a couple of our friendly Managers.
We are officially recognised as a 'Great Place to Work' and our benefits go beyond basic pay, with a discretionary bonus scheme, a culture of reward and recognition and comprehensive support for wellbeing. We are serious about equality, of race, age, faith, disability, and sexual orientation and we celebrate diversity. By working together, we know you will build more than just a career with us.
We understand the need for flexibility, so wherever possible, we will consider alternative working patterns. Have a chat with us before you apply to see what the possibilities are for this role.
