The Group is seeking additional resource to strengthen its Second Line of Defence and support the growing technology and change agenda over the next few years. The role is responsible for providing robust framework oversight, challenge, and monitoring of Technology and Change Risk in line with Group policies, control standards, and risk appetite.

Acting as the Risk Oversight and Assurance voice for the delivery of the Group's extensive transformation portfolio, the role requires a positive, practical, and collaborative approach to assessing and managing operational and execution risks, while meeting deadlines and delivering on key responsibilities. The role collaborates closely with teams to identify, assess, record, and manage Technology and Change risks. It also leads the production of risk profile reporting for Risk Committees, provides insight and challenge in resolving operational risk events, and supports the development and communication of risk appetite, metrics, and tolerance thresholds. The role also includes guiding business areas in managing current and emerging Technology and Change risks and working collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure a consistent, effective approach to risk management across the Group.

Location: We operate on a team-led hybrid approach, at least once a month in the Coventry & / or Manchester office.

About you

To be successful in this role it’s essential you:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, adopting a collaborative style.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and their teams across the 1st Line of Defence (LOD) and 2nd LOD.
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of operational risk management, the associated regulatory environment and risk management strategies, policies and frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of Technology and Change frameworks with a good understanding of emerging threats and regulatory changes.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with experience of writing committee papers.
  • The ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, adopting a collaborative style and operating a practical solution-oriented approach.

Desirable experience will be:

  • Financial Services or Regulated environment.
  • Hold a Risk or technical qualification.
