About the role
Our Digital & SEO team have a full time 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a SEO Manager. We are looking for a strategic SEO to shape and deliver our Group-wide Organic Search strategy, spanning traditional search engines and emerging AI large language models. Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital & SEO, this role will work with agency partners and cross-functional teams to drive visibility, performance and revenue across multiple Coventry Building Society and Co-operative Bank brands and product areas, covering content, offsite and technical SEO. With a strong commercial mindset, this role will balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery, using data to drive performance and future proof our presence in an evolving AI-driven search landscape.
What are the roles responsibilities:
- We require a leader to shape and deliver a Group-wide SEO and AEO strategy that boosts organic visibility and drives commercial growth.
- Oversee technical, content and offsite activity, manage our agency partners, and work closely with Product, Digital, Marketing and PR teams to embed best practice across the Group.
- The role involves influencing senior stakeholders, staying ahead of industry and AI-search trends, and turning insights into clear actions.
- It will also involve leading performance reporting and ensuring our SEO and PPC strategies work together efficiently and effectively.
Location: We operate on a team-led hybrid approach. The current team are onsite in Manchester or Coventry less than once a month.
