Due to a temporary secondment in the UX team we have an opportunity for a UX Research Specialist to join us on a 15-month fixed term contract. This role sits at the heart of how we understand and design for our customers. You will be responsible for uncovering meaningful, human-centred insights that directly shape product and design decisions.
Working closely with UX Designers, Product Managers and cross-functional teams, you will ensure that real user needs, behaviours and pain points are continuously surfaced and embedded across the end-to-end experience. You will take an active role in research throughout the product lifecycle, combining discovery and evaluative approaches to help teams learn quickly and iterate with confidence. This includes planning and running hands-on research activities such as moderated and unmoderated testing, rapid usability studies, and iterative validation of concepts and designs.
A key part of the role is translating research outputs into clear, compelling insights that put the user at the centre of decision making. Rather than simply reporting findings, you will synthesise patterns, highlight opportunities, and tell persuasive stories that influence direction and drive action. You will work closely with teams to ensure that insights are not only understood but meaningfully applied to improve the user experience.
You will act as an advocate for user-centred design, helping to build a culture where research is valued, ethical, and aligned with business, risk and regulatory expectations. By fostering strong collaboration and raising the visibility of user insight, you will contribute to growing research capability and maturity across the organisation.
This is a role for someone who is curious, empathetic and outcome-focused, with a strong instinct for understanding people and a passion for turning insight into better user experiences.
Our benefits include:
- 28 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme
- Annual discretionary bonus scheme
- Personal pension with matched contributions
- Life assurance (6 times annual salary)
We reserve the right to close this advert early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications. We operate on a team-led hybrid approach with at least once a quarter in the Manchester office.
