Our New Lending area has the opportunity to join them as a Mortgage Underwriter. This role is responsible for accurately processing our customer mortgage applications through our systems, ensuring they meet the appropriate policies and criteria. The role holder underwrites cases by checking mortgage calculations, various customer’s documents such as payslips and proof of I.D, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail within this fast paced, customer focused environment. It requires strong attention to detail to be able to highlight any discrepancies or concerns.
The role also involves working closely with mortgage brokers, solicitors and customers by making calls to them on a daily basis, keeping them up to date on the mortgage process and gaining any extra information needed will be an important part of this opportunity. Continuous learning and keeping up to date with product and policy changes will be key as well as achieving quality standards. Once you're trained and comfortable in the role (up to 6 months) you'll revert to a hybrid working pattern. We’ll then ask you to work at least two days (more if you prefer) from our Cheltenham office. The role operates Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
