What you’ll be doing:
- Lead a team of security staff on shift, providing clear direction and support to ensure a safe, professional presence across the venue.
- Plan and coordinate security operations for events, including pre‑event briefings, staff allocation and post‑event debriefs.
- Supervise crowd management, access control, searches and stewarding to maintain a safe environment for all visitors.
- Act as the first point of escalation for incidents on shift, making calm, effective decisions and liaising with emergency services when required.
- Conduct regular patrols and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards in line with venue procedures.
- Ensure all security activity is logged accurately and that incident reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Support training and development of security team members, leading by example and promoting excellent customer service alongside safety duties.
- Work closely with venue management, operations, hospitality and box office teams to deliver seamless event delivery.
- Maintain high standards of appearance, conduct and professionalism at all times and ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety and safeguarding policies.
What are we looking for:
- A candidate who holds both their SIA CCTV and Door Supervisor licence is essential.
- You must have achieved your ACT awareness training within the last 12 months.
- Previous experience working in a multi‑use venue is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years security experience in a similar environment.
- The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi‑skilled team, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- They will demonstrate a flexible approach to work, adapting to varying tasks and operational needs, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong understanding of security operations is essential, including experience with CCTV and access control systems, along with awareness of key security principles such as counter‑terrorism and managing safety in crowded places.
- Desirable: Hold a recognised Security Management qualification.
