About the Role

Are you passionate about ensuring that ex‑British Armed Forces veterans – Navy, Army and RAF – receive excellent mental health care? Join OP Courage and support our service members and their families across the West Midlands. You will work alongside NHS OP Courage urgent and treatment pathway colleagues, using your professionalism, initiative and resilience to engage and assess patients who can be difficult‑to‑engage, complex and risky.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage, assess and help patients navigate the mental health care system.
  • Work with veterans and families dealing with mental health challenges across the West Midlands region.
  • Liaise with other NHS services and third‑sector agencies to ensure collaborative care.
  • Attend assessment clinics 3‑4 times a month to meet with and assess referred veterans and families.
  • Cover a designated geographical area (West Midlands) from a satellite base in Rugby.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First‑hand experience or knowledge of veteran mental health or working within the military community is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage settings with complex and risky patients.
