Overview
The key elements of the role include delivering psychological assessment (including assessment and monitoring of risk); formulation; individual and group treatment for people with learning disabilities and autism under the supervision of a qualified Forensic / Clinical Psychologist. The role involves working in collaboration with other members of the psychology and multidisciplinary team. The post holder will contribute to service development through audit, service evaluation and research and training, and delivery of reflective practice. The psychology department at Brooklands is a well‑established and supportive service. The successful applicant will receive support to further develop their skills and knowledge through good quality supervision and training opportunities. Therapeutic approaches used by the team include CBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR and Schema Therapy. The service offers a range of clinical and offence‑focused treatment programmes, e.g. DBT, structured offence programmes, and PBS is embedded in the service. There are strong links with local clinical and forensic training doctorate courses and regularly provide placements for trainee clinical and forensic psychologists, clinical associates in psychology, supervision for research, and teaching on the courses. Community learning disability teams across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull also collaborate closely.

- Relevant experience of working with forensic populations and/or considerable experience of working with people with Intellectual (learning) disabilities who present considerable risk to others.
