We are looking to recruit a Receptionist / Administrative support role, based within an Adult Mental Health service. The post-holder will be required to work within an integrated and skill mixed team, reporting to the Admin Team Coordinator and providing an effective and efficient reception and admin support service to clinicians and managers across the service. You must be able to multi-task under pressure and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. The role will require you to cover the main hospital reception area and provide general admin support to other services when required within the building.
Main duties of the job:
- You will be front of house greeting patients and visitors to the service.
- You will also be providing efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the admin team, clinicians and managers which will include answering calls on the busy main switchboard, taking messages, clinic room bookings.
We will require a well organised individual who is able to empathise with our service users and be able to deal with sensitive enquiries in a confidential manner. The role requires excellent customer service skills due to the nature of the calls as well as previous reception/office experience. Applicants will be handling telephone calls, scanning documents, maintaining care records and data inputting using our CareNotes/SystmOne software daily - previous experience would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

Job responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level with an administration NVQ or QCF or equivalent experience. Essential requirements of this post include a confident telephone manner, good IT skills, high level communication skills, attention to detail and sensitivity due to the nature of the service. You will need good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We are looking for individuals with a positive approach to change who are supportive of service improvements and able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work.
