We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Band 3 Admin Support within our Adult Neurodevelopment Admin Team. We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent communication, organisational and secretarial skills to support the administration function. We are looking for individuals with a positive and compassionate approach to supporting patient care. You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work.

The essential requirements of this post are good telephone manner, high level communication skills, typing letters, and attention to detail. You will have good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We have a full electronic patient record system which is central to our work, so accurate record keeping is critical, and you must be able to concentrate in a busy working environment.

Main duties of the job:

  • The successful candidates will provide an efficient and comprehensive administration service to support the wide range of clinicians within the teams.
  • They will work within a busy integrated and skill mixed team.
  • They will need to be confident and empathetic in dealing with sensitive telephone calls and complaints, with an excellent telephone manner.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team is vital in this role as we rely on each other for support with workload and guidance with sensitive patient queries.

Qualifications:

  • Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C).
  • QCF Business Administration Level 2.

Experience:

  • Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Experience of working in a busy office/customer care environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and use own initiative.
  • Excellent communication/customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion.
  • Ability to deal professionally with enquiries from staff, service users and stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Understand confidentiality and apply the principles in everyday working practice.
