Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking to broaden your experience and take on a fresh challenge? We are delighted to offer a Band 7 Occupational Therapist secondment within our friendly, supportive Inpatient AHP team at Brooklands Hospital. Working alongside well-established multidisciplinary teams—including AHPs, Psychologists, nursing, and medical colleagues—you will have the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and gain valuable experience in service development.
You will continue to deliver high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy to a complex, varied, and often challenging client group, making a meaningful difference to patient outcomes. You will be well supported by experienced colleagues, with access to peer supervision, regular clinical supervision, and ongoing opportunities for CPD and networking. In addition, further training and development opportunities are available through the Trust's LBR fund, supporting you to enhance your knowledge, skills, and confidence in working with this specialist client group.
This secondment offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally within a collaborative and encouraging environment while gaining valuable Band 7 experience.
To work as part of a Therapy Team providing Occupational Therapy input into Assessment and Treatment Services and Forensic Learning Disability Services. To hold a clinical caseload and influence the Occupational Therapy service, delivery and development of the Therapy service at Brooklands. This includes the supervision of junior and support staff as relevant. To lead on Occupational Therapy service developments in line with Trust priorities and timescales, as agreed, and supervise clinical practice as relevant.
Responsibilities- Carry a clinical caseload of individuals including those with complex occupational therapy difficulties.
- Interpret referrals, conduct initial interviews; assess the capacities and limitations of the patient/client.
- Plan and implement appropriate treatment plans involving patients/clients/relatives/carers and multidisciplinary colleagues as appropriate. Treatment may be delivered at the base or in a relevant community setting.
- One of many contributing as part of the leadership team ensuring teams objectives are in line with the overall objectives of the inpatient therapy team.
- Lead the Occupational Therapy team in the inpatient services and ensure the teams objectives are in line with the overall objectives of the inpatient therapy team.
- Coordinate the delivery of Occupational Therapy across inpatient services and provide clinical and managerial supervision to more junior members of the team.
