Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults, and older adults across many sites in Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull. Our services serve a population of over one million people in Coventry and Warwickshire and also cover some specialist services elsewhere. At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond. Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical risk and mental state triage and assessment when a person calls the 111/Crisis line.
  • Provide emotional support, onward urgent referral, and transfer to 999 for callers who need emergency and urgent mental health support in a crisis, 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Act as an expert in de‑escalating crisis and supporting children and young people (CYP) and their families/carers in distress and emotional states.
  • Work in partnership with others to assess and identify the child/young person’s needs, taking into account parenting capacity, environment and the child’s/young person’s needs.
  • Use a range of interventions to empower patients’ carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively.
  • Complete urgent risk assessments as indicated following robust triage of the call in line with CWPT/RISE procedures and risk assessment policies.
  • Identify areas of need for CYP and their families and assist them in accessing appropriate services for support.
  • Champion patients’ rights, including dignity, equality, diversity, choice and respect.
  • Provide advice and guidance on mental health problems.
  • Act always in a way that promotes and safeguards the wellbeing and interests of CYP and their families/carers in accordance with the national occupation standard.
  • Work without direct supervision to deliver triage of patients via telephone.
