Join to apply for the OpCourage Senior Practitioner β Band 6 role at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. Permanent, full time role. Are you passionate about ensuring that our ex-British Armed Forces (Veterans) β Navy, Army and RAF servicewomen and men have excellent mental health care?
Position: Veterans Senior Practitioner β Band 6. Location: West Midlands region with a satellite base in Rugby. You will join a team within the OP Courage urgent and treatment pathway, supporting veterans and their families and liaising with other NHS services and third sector agencies.
Responsibilities
- Engage with veterans and their families to assess and navigate mental health needs, particularly in cases that are difficult to engage, complex or risky.
- Collaborate with NHS services and third sector partners to ensure collaborative working across the West Midlands patch.
- Attend assessment clinics regionally 3β4 times per month to meet with and assess referred veterans and their families.
- Work as part of the OP Courage team, contributing to the wider NHS urgent and treatment pathway and supporting the service as needed.
- Provide timely and appropriate support and connect patients with suitable services and systems as required.
Requirements and Qualities
- Experience in engaging and assessing individuals with complex mental health needs and demonstrated ability to work across systems and services.
- Strong teamwork, initiative, persuasiveness and resilience; able to work in a challenging environment with veterans and their families.
- Willingness to travel regionally within the West Midlands and participate in regional assessment activities.
