We are seeking a driven and dedicated individual to fill the role of Enhanced Access Practice Nurse.

Our EA Practice Nurses play a vital role as part of a busy team. You will provide excellent practice nursing care directly to patients, support the development of innovative and high-quality nursing practice, and offer advice on service improvements based on your experience and the needs of patients. Responsibilities

  • Work within the multidisciplinary team to meet common goals.
  • Provide family planning advice.
  • Administer IM contraceptive injections as per protocol.
  • Administer childhood immunisations according to the national vaccination schedule.
  • Monitor ongoing treatments and provide health education advice.
  • Perform cervical cytology screening and offer opportunistic screening and health advice.
  • Assist with planning and evaluating patient care.
  • Clinical measurements including blood pressure, blood glucose, and ECGs; administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Undertake wound care and appropriate wound management.
  • Provide health promotion in areas such as weight, smoking, and alcohol.
  • Teach patients and their families self-care where appropriate; assist and/or chaperone the GP.
  • Work within professional standards and evidence-based practice; ensure registration with your professional body.
  • Participate in annual appraisal and ongoing professional development; engage in clinical supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness, infection control standards, and proper stock/items management in clinical areas, including cold chain policies.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant nursing/health degree/qualification
  • Registered first level nurse
  • Registered with NMC

Desirable

  • Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards

Experience

Essential

  • Post-registration nursing experience
  • Experience of working in community/primary care
  • Management of long-term conditions; involvement in applying protocols and clinical guidelines
  • Experience of audit

Desirable

  • Participation in quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking
