Our client, a long established faith based organisation is seeking a highly organised and adaptable Secretary to provide dedicated administrative and secretarial support to a senior leader covering the South East region, as well as additional portfolios including education, inclusion and social outreach. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. You will be working part-time, 21 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, including diary management, email monitoring, and correspondence handling.
  • Coordinate key events and formal occasions, including visits, inductions, confirmations, and other scheduled services.
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and invoices using the organisation’s finance system.
  • Proofread and edit formal and liturgical materials in line with established guidelines.
  • Maintain and update website and social media channels; design posters, newsletters, and communications materials using relevant software.
  • Organise meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, conduct background research, and produce reports.
  • Liaise with senior leadership offices, regional teams, local organisations, and internal departments to ensure effective communication and strong working relationships.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in a senior level administrative or secretarial role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Confident IT user, including email, databases, finance systems, social media, websites, Teams/Zoom, and online research tools.
  • Highly adaptable with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, working within a faith based environment is advantageous.
