The Retail Store Manager at 130 King St in downtown London, Ontario, is a historic cultural landmark operating since 1845. It features over 40 indoor vendors selling fresh produce, meats, baked goods, and global foods, alongside an outdoor Saturday farmers' market and underground parking.

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Retail Store Manager to lead our retail team to success! In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store operations, drive sales growth, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will inspire your team, manage inventory, and implement strategic initiatives to maximize store performance. Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise retail sales teams, providing guidance, training, and motivation to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and operational workflows.
  • Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and stock control to ensure product availability and optimal presentation.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop staff through effective employee orientation and ongoing training & development programs.
  • Implement marketing strategies and promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales volume.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Enforce store policies, manage scheduling shifts, supervise cashiering activities, and uphold safety standards.

Skills

  • Proven management experience in retail industry sales team management with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including managerial communication, phone etiquette, and customer service expertise.
  • Skilled in negotiation, purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory control techniques.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
  • Proficient in POS systems, retail math calculations, basic bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in supervising staff through effective training & development and team management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience with operational management including merchandising, stocking, marketing initiatives, wireless sales (if applicable), and grocery store operations if relevant.
  • Adept at time management and prioritization to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of customer service.
