Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role in London for a Play & Youth Worker (Maternity Cover - 9 months/40 weeks) at Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust, working afternoon and evenings. The Play & Youth Worker will coordinate and deliver engaging activities for children and young people, including play sessions, workshops, and community programmes. Responsibilities include providing planning sessions, fostering positive relationships, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for participants. The role also involves planning activities, collaborating with team members, and providing support to ensure the success of youth services.
Key Responsibilities Summary
- Safeguarding and ensuring young people's well-being
- Running and supporting high quality Play & Youth Work activities for young people
- Supporting the running of our holiday programme for young people
- Monitoring behaviour, engagement, and safety
- Supporting session evaluation and feedback
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Preparing and distributing snacks
- Working as part of the Play & Youth team
Qualifications
- Experience in Youth Work, play work or education for young people
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to foster positive relationships with both youth and colleagues
- Passion for creating inclusive spaces and promoting community involvement
- A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field is preferred
- Experience or interest in working with emerging technologies and creative tools is an advantage

2 Stage Interview process
- Interview with the CEO and Centre Manager
- Invited to a group interview, running a small activity with young people in person
