Senior User Researcher

Ncounter are looking for a User Research Lead to support a major Defence programme, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring user insight shapes every phase of delivery. You will balance hands‑on research with team leadership, while keeping delivery aligned to user needs, policy requirements and programme outcomes.

£575 to £650 per day Outside IR35

Key Responsibilities

• Lead research planning, method selection and end‑to‑end delivery within agile teams.
• Run programmes of research across several workstreams and translate findings into clear actions.
• Facilitate workshops, shape discovery and alpha activity, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Define research standards, processes and strategy for consistent, high‑quality output.
• Coach and develop researchers and design colleagues, supporting capability growth.
• Communicate insight clearly to drive prioritisation, design decisions and measurable value.
