Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Driver. This position is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for campus residents and supporting services as required.

In this role, the Driver will:

  1. Transport residents to and from scheduled and emergency appointments, as well as provide transportation for Circuit bus, planned activities, and group trips as schedule allows. Transportation may be scheduled for days, evenings, or weekends.
  2. Operate assigned vehicles under various road and weather conditions safely and efficiently.
  3. Ensure the safety and comfort of residents while operating the vehicle.
  4. Coordinate with receptionists to determine pickup times and locations for residents.
  5. Assist residents with transfers to and from the vehicle when necessary.
  6. Use mobile phones safely (via Bluetooth or speakerphone) to receive pickup reports and plan routes efficiently.
  7. Report transportation issues, incidents, or changes in residents\’ conditions.
  8. Perform safety checks on vehicle lights, gauges, and other equipment; clean mirrors, windows, and lights for clear visibility; conduct additional safety inspections as needed.
  9. Handle errands involving transportation for office staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of related driving experience and knowledge of local and surrounding roads.
  • Valid CDL driver\’s license in the state with an excellent driving record.
  • Optional but advantageous: valid Class B Commercial Driver\’s License in good standing.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to remain calm in emergencies, respecting residents\’ safety and belongings.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
  • Genuine compassion for the elderly and disabled, with professional and pleasant interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of lifting techniques and basic first aid.

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.82 – $21.83

Note: The actual pay will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, location, and internal/external considerations.
