The Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT) performs all routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures. The MRT I also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health.

This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Radiological Technology program or recognized equivalent required.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) required.
  • BLS (Level C - Health Care Provider) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call.
  • MRT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology, fluoroscopy, and portables.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required.
  • Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education.
  • Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, Covenant health staff and physicians.
