An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Regional Team as a Regional Underwriter here at Covéa Insurance. Covéa Insurance offers a wide range of home, motor and commercial insurance backed by our award-winning customer service. The South Regional Trading Team has offices in Bristol, Chelmsford and London, as well as supporting homeworking and hybrid working. Our focus is on underwriting Commercial Combined, Real Estate, Motor Trade Combined and Motor Fleet products. This role as a Regional Underwriter will focus on writing new business for our Commercial Combined and Real Estate products, aligned primarily to Chelmsford and Bristol. We have a fantastic mix of experience with a huge amount of collaboration and support across the team to deliver top class service to our broker partners. The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and also from our Bristol or Chelmsford office.
What will I be doing?
- Developing & supporting Regional brokers, acting as a focal point to develop strong relationships with a panel of brokers and leveraging & protecting profitable business through service excellence and local engagement.
- Contributing to the achievement of the regional financial plan through effective use of the personal underwriting authority to optimise the breadth of the underwriting appetite and footprint within strategy.
- Strengthening the development and underwriting of larger and more complex risks, whilst strengthening our reputation in the market.
- Developing a reputation as an underwriting expert and technical focal point in the region to increase confidence in the underwriting capability of the region, supporting the team to deliver the strength & depth to underwrite effectively.
- Adopting and embedding a strong governance culture and awareness of risk across the region, focused on core business and technical discipline.
- Operating in line with agreed audit controls and objectives aligned to effective control and implementation of risk management.
- Proactively supporting the underwriting and trading relationship with brokers and customers in the Region.
- Maintaining and exceeding agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
- Working closely with the Regional Development Manager and Senior Regional Underwriters to develop a pipeline of new business prospects from the regional broker panel, to support the delivery of the broker and regional plans.
