We are looking for an Underwriter to join our Private Clients team here at Covéa Insurance. Covéa Insurance offers a wide range of home, motor and commercial insurance backed by our award-winning customer service. Our purpose is to “help protect people against the worst happening and put it right if it does”. It’s the reason we are here, and it’s the task we all focus on every day.

In this role, you will actively contribute and assist the HNW department in achieving the budgeted new business GWP, retention and rate strength targets, whilst providing first class service. You will develop and maintain excellent relationships to assist with the profitable growth of our HNW accounts. This role is based onsite at our Halifax office. We find that working together in the office increases collaboration and engagement, and also supports your development too!

What will I be doing?

  • Underwriting and processing new business, renewals, and adjustments across all HNW teams, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Covéa’s SLAs
  • Managing a personal portfolio in line with service, technical, and compliance standards
  • Demonstrating technical competence in underwriting mid and high net worth cases within authority limits and Covéa’s risk appetite
  • Contributing to departmental profitability and retention through proactive prospecting and lead generation
  • Assessing risks with consideration of claims history and risk management insights, consulting specialists when needed
  • Maintaining strong product knowledge and provide input on product development and risk appetite
  • Building and maintaining internal and external relationships, attending meetings and events as required
  • Supporting projects and initiatives, taking ownership of areas aligned with your expertise
  • Mentoring junior team members and assisting with training and referrals
  • Striving to meet and exceed annual performance goals

  • Experience within HNW or personal lines insurance
  • Cert CII or working towards Dip CII Qualifications is desirable but not essential
