We have an exciting opportunity to join us here at Covéa Insurance as a Schemes Assistant Underwriter, within our Commercial Lines Team! This is a hybrid position, combining the best of both worlds - working from home and spending time in our Halifax or Reading office. At Covéa, balance matters. What does a day-to-day look like?

  • Underwriting & decision‑making — assess and underwrite broker referrals in line with Covéa’s strategy, appetite, and authority, while supporting lead underwriters with required rate actions.
  • Broker & stakeholder relationships — build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with broker partners and internal teams.
  • Trading support & advocacy — champion effective trading practices and assist colleagues with trading initiatives to drive performance.
  • Insight & trend analysis — identify, document, and communicate underwriting and pricing trends to lead underwriters.
  • Project involvement & portfolio oversight — contribute to key projects such as large loss reviews, breach reports, portfolio management, and flood scrutiny.
  • Compliance & record‑keeping — maintain accurate audit trails and ensure all activity aligns with Covéa’s systems, processes, and procedures.
