In this role, you’ll be working in a team with a purpose to deliver a bespoke, comprehensive and specialist service to the HNW Department.
This is a hybrid position, combining the best of both worlds - working from home and spending time in either our Halifax, Reading or London office.

What You Can Expect

  • To manually underwrite quotations within your authority for Tier 1 and 2 brokers, or for direct clients
  • To support the team by underwriting renewals and adjustments for both broker led and SP related business
  • To prospect and actively contribute to the growth/retention targets for yourself and of the overall HNW department
  • Demonstrate awareness of how claims and risk management affect risk performance, and underwrite accordingly, seeking specialist input when needed
  • To manage our own workload and to prove own technical competence in handling mid & high net worth cases
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, brokers & direct clients
  • Ensure a working knowledge of all HNW products, procedures, underwriting guides and Management Information is achieved
  • To answer calls, handle broker/client queries and issue appropriate paperwork

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Underwriters and wider department
  • Ability to identify actual and potential challenges, acting well on feedback & constantly seeking to improve performance
  • Actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding with appropriate follow-up actions
  • A “can do” attitude, proactively seeking solutions and opportunities in order to achieve the highest professional standards and go the extra mile
  • Willing to try new things and see both successes and mistakes as opportunities to learn
  • MI and analytical skills, with Cert CII Qualifications (or working towards) is preferred
  • Experience within insurance is desirable
