The View is a completely unique rooftop restaurant & bar venue offering locally sourced fresh produce in Exeter. Distinctly visible from far distances and synonymous with the service experience provided, it features elegant and spacious seating in a contemporary design.

Kitchen & Bistro, located on our 3rd floor, is a more relaxed dining option catering for business guests all day and offers simple dishes using the best local ingredients Devon has to offer. As well as our two culinary offerings, we cater for meetings and events whilst hosting elite sports teams, along with bespoke celebrations.

Salary: from £42,000 Per Annum

As our Head Chef you will:

  • Be trained to a minimum of 2 AA Rosette Level.
  • Be passionate about fresh local ingredients.
  • Have an understanding of food waste and a desire to use all the ingredients.
  • Exhibit culinary talents by personally running the pass.
  • Lead the staff and manage all food-related functions.
  • Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for guiding and developing the restaurant chefs.
  • Have knowledge of food cost and ability to work to margins.
  • Have experience in menu creation for various event styles.
  • Have a flexible approach to working in all areas of the hotel (K&B, M&E).
  • Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced.
  • Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
  • Be responsible for overseeing all food preparation and support areas when required.
  • Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
