About the Role

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Walsall

We are looking for a Children's Care Waking Night Team Leader to join our team who has a passion for providing a high standard of support that enables young people to learn and develop through education and positive life experiences.

The role involves:

  • Providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promoting the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational and recreational activities of their choice.
  • Supporting young people to maintain contact with families or significant others.
  • Undertaking all aspects of day-to-day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
  • Supporting young people to manage their personal care and hygiene.
  • Leading the waking night teams and managing the night hours/care of the children and home.
  • Training as medication officer, completing supervisions, appraisals and attending home team meetings/training during day hours as required.

For Support Worker positions, although an understanding of the role is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Have previous experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team.
