We are looking for Children’s Bank Support Workers to join our team in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester, who have a passion for providing a high standard of support that enables young people to learn and develop through education and positive life experiences.

Hours: Bank, variable

Location: Manchester

Must have a valid clear driver’s licence

Support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live. Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The role:

  • To provide support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • To facilitate social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, supported employment, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • Complete a range of records and documents as part of the role.

About The Service:

The Courtyard is a small purpose-built bungalow for children with complex medical needs, with life limiting illnesses. The support team are trained to look after children who may have a tracheostomy tube, require long term ventilation, epilepsy, physio, gastrostomies, and other medical needs.
