About The Role

Hours: 42 hours per week across a variety of shifts on a rota

We are looking for a Children's Care Team Leader to join our team who has a passion for providing a high standard of support that enables young people to learn and develop through education and positive life experiences.

The role:

  • You will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice.
  • Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
  • The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
  • Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.

For Support Worker positions although an understanding of the role is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Have previous experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities
  • You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of the team.

About The Service:

Our five-bed residential home for children, aged 5 – 17 years, is registered with OFSTED and offers services to young people who have learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and complex needs. We are situated in the quiet residential area of Little Addington, close to local resources and facilities.

The service offers each child their own bedroom and a range of communal living spaces including a large garden room which provides recreational facilities for them to create their own activities. This area is designed to encourage creative and sometimes messy projects.

We also have an amazing sensory and calming room with lights, sounds and textures which are used together to create a stimulating, or calming environment. This area can be used to support individuals with planned activities or just to relax.
