Job Description
Designation – Commis Chef
Full Time – 40 hours
Salary – £26,000 per annum
Cycas Hospitality is seeking a Commis Chef to join our team in London, Greater London, United Kingdom. This position is pivotal to our success, and we are committed to providing a competitive package that reflects the candidate\’s skills and responsibilities.
Job Scope
- Under the direction of the Head Chef or the Sous Chef, prepare and serve a range of menu items that meet customers’ expectations. Promotes the desired work culture around our company culture.

Key Job Responsibilities
Assists with the preparation, presentation, decoration, and menu dishes including:
- Meat dishes and meat marinades
- Fish, shellfish, and sauces for fish and shellfish
- Garnishing techniques and methods of service for fish
- Pastry, cakes, and yeast goods
- Petit fours and desserts
- Prepares regional dishes appropriate to the hotel menu, location, and guest mix
- Buffet food
- Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comment, and other relevant information
- Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled
- Prepares in advance food, material, and equipment needed for the service
- Cleans and re-sets his/her working area
Customer Service
- Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards, including:
- being attentive to guests
- accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests
- understand and anticipate guest needs
- maintain a high level of knowledge to enhance the guest experience
- demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations
- take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
What are we looking for?
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hotel environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in shifts
- Understanding the Hotel / Company standards, products, and services
