As Assistant Branch Manager, you will support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy plumbing & heating merchant, helping to drive sales, manage operations, and lead the team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the branch delivers excellent customer service, strong sales performance, and efficient operations. This branch has 5 staff members and turns over approx £2.5m. The branch has an excellent trade counter presence with lots of collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in running daily branch operations
- Drive sales, margin, and profitability in line with targets
- Build and maintain relationships with local trade customers, contractors, and suppliers
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the branch team
- Assist on the trade counter, handling enquiries, quotes, and orders
- Manage stock control, purchasing, and inventory accuracy
- Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and branch targets
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and company procedures
- Step up to run the branch in the Manager’s absence
