Package: Role North West (Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside) AND East Anglia (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, East & North London).
This is a 100% Plumbers Merchant–focused field sales role, representing a full and competitive range of plumbing products—valves, piping, push-fit, shower hoses, brassware, taps, and consumables. Approximately 75% of the portfolio is imported from China, giving excellent value and margin opportunities for merchants.
You will manage and develop a territory of around 275 spending and non-spending merchant accounts, worth £2.5m–£3m in annual revenue. Your primary responsibility is to grow sales, deepen customer relationships, and increase stock holding and product range penetration within each merchant.
Key customer groups include:
- Regional and National Merchants (e.g., Wolseley, UK Plumbing Supplies, MKM, James Hargreaves, Huws Gray, Duftons)
A significant part of the role is building rapport at branch level—Branch Managers, Assistant Managers, Trade Counter Teams—and increasing advocacy for your product range. You’ll use activities such as breakfast mornings, trade counter events, and installer engagement days to drive pull-through with local plumbers.
