The Opportunity

We are working exclusively with a leading UK manufacturer within the construction and drainage sector to recruit an Export Sales Manager to support their growing European business. This is a newly created role offering genuine long‑term progression, with the potential to develop into a senior leadership position in the future. You will work closely with the Export Director and play a key role in developing international sales across Northern Europe.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing export sales of a premium range of drainage and access products, including:

  • Access covers
  • Roof outlets

This is a project-led, consultative sales role, engaging with:

  • Civil Engineers
  • Distribution partners

Projects include high‑profile infrastructure and commercial developments such as:

  • Airports
  • Road networks
  • Commercial buildings

Most sales are routed through distribution partners, making relationship management and specification selling crucial to success. You will manage projects from early specification stage through to completion, primarily using Teams/virtual meetings, with some travel when required. Office expectation: 1–2 days per week (initially), ideally at the Essex office.

About the Business

Our client is part of a well‑established UK group, specialising in high‑quality drainage and water management solutions with decades of manufacturing expertise.

About You

We’re looking for a hungry, driven and commercially sharp sales professional with:

  • Experience in construction product sales (drainage preferred but not essential)
  • A project‑led approach to selling
  • Strong understanding of specification, contractors and distribution channels

Backgrounds considered: drainage, civils, bricks, lintels, insulation, or similar. Export experience is NOT essential – full training will be provided. Attitude, ambition and tenacity are far more important. This role suits someone in their career growth phase who wants to build something long‑term and step into a bigger leadership role over time.

Benefits

  • Quarterly bonus scheme (historically £8k–£10k per year)
  • Private healthcare (with family options)
  • 25 days annual leave

Why Apply?

  • Newly created role with clear progression
  • Work closely with senior leadership
  • Strong, established brand with huge growth potential
