We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and professional Receptionist/School Secretaryto join our friendly school team. This is a key front-of-house role, providing a warm welcome to pupils, parents, visitors, and staff while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment. This is a full-time role.

Working Hours:8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Β£18,000 to Β£25,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional reception service to all visitors and callers.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and enquiries efficiently and courteously.
  • Undertake a wide range of administrative duties, including maintaining records, filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff with administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate appointments, meetings, and visitor arrangements.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and adhere to school policies and procedures.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A professional, approachable, and friendly manner.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work calmly under pressure.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.

Safeguarding Requirements:

All candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checkprior to appointment. The successful applicant will also be required to complete Safeguarding trainingand demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
