We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our school community, working with KS3 and KS4 students with Special Educational Needs. Art plays a central role in our school. It is not just a subject, but a vital means of self-expression, confidence building and, at times, therapeutic support for our students. The successful candidate will understand the power of creativity to support emotional wellbeing, communication and personal growth.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging, accessible art lessons for KS3 and KS4 students
  • Inspire students through a practical, hands-on approach to art
  • Use art as a tool to support self-esteem, emotional regulation and expression
  • Play an active, visible role within the wider life of the school
  • Contribute to a creative, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience teaching a wide range of art techniques and methods, including digital, mixed media and sculpture
  • A strong belief in art as a process, not just an outcome
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, sensory and emotional needs
  • Experience of, or a strong interest in, working with SEN students
  • Confidence teaching KS3 and KS4
