We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our school community, working with KS3 and KS4 students with Special Educational Needs. Art plays a central role in our school. It is not just a subject, but a vital means of self-expression, confidence building and, at times, therapeutic support for our students. The successful candidate will understand the power of creativity to support emotional wellbeing, communication and personal growth.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, accessible art lessons for KS3 and KS4 students
- Inspire students through a practical, hands-on approach to art
- Use art as a tool to support self-esteem, emotional regulation and expression
- Play an active, visible role within the wider life of the school
- Contribute to a creative, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching a wide range of art techniques and methods, including digital, mixed media and sculpture
- A strong belief in art as a process, not just an outcome
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, sensory and emotional needs
- Experience of, or a strong interest in, working with SEN students
- Confidence teaching KS3 and KS4
