The team has extensive experience across major international arbitration rules and institutions, including UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID, DIFC, LCIA, SIAC, CIETAC, SCC, WIPO, as well as trade arbitrations such as LMAA and GAFTA, and proceedings under the Arbitration Act 1996. The arbitration group represents both claimants and respondents across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, insurance, oil & gas, energy, real estate, leisure, and major projects. With a partner-led approach, our lawyers provide strategic guidance and support from appointment through to enforcement. Many of their Partners, Senior Associates, and Associates are active members of leading national and international arbitral groups, ensuring strong connections within the global arbitration community. One of the fastest-growing areas of their disputes practice is in Sub-Saharan Africa, where they are handling significant new instructions in both investor-state and commercial arbitration, alongside high-value High Court litigation.

Candidate Profile

To support this growth, they are seeking an accomplished International Arbitration Associate and candidates with 3 to 6 years pqe will be considered to join their Africa-focused team. You will likely have a background including:

  • Experience gained at a leading international law firm with a strong reputation in international arbitration.
  • A background acting for commercial clients or representing states in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Proven experience in High Court commercial litigation.
  • A track record of technical excellence, strong client relationships, and the ability to contribute strategically to the continued growth of their Africa practice.
