Their main product is an Operating Lease for IT equipment, especially desktops and laptops, which need frequent remarketing due to their rapid obsolescence. Laptops face higher wear and tear from battery degradation, mobility stress, and continuous software updates driven by workforce needs and cybersecurity threats. InnoVent’s unique approach involves refurbishing and remarketing IT assets after their primary use term under the “2nd Life IT” initiative, launched seven years ago. This program offers professionally refurbished laptops, desktops, and mobile devices with Innovent-provided warranties for secondary use. In the past six years, InnoVent expanded its services, including IT reselling, deployment and management support, asset tracking, and management services, enhancing cost validation and asset efficiency for customers. Technology Services InnoVent expanded its technical resources to support customer purchases, manage equipment returns, and prepare goods for resale. A team was formed to process, repair, and handle smaller quantities of goods, serving as a center of excellence to understand necessary partnerships for larger asset groups from significant clients. The Role This senior management role will initially focus on sales, aiming to re-rent or sell end-of-lease equipment at retail prices. The position involves developing a strategy to enhance InnoVent’s asset remarketing in the UK. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing a strategy to achieve consistent returns from equity investments in all leased asset types, which may involve: Disposing of returned assets through wholesale channels after processing and data wiping; Refurbishing returned assets suitable for reuse in the secondary rental market; Ensuring the safe and legal scrapping of assets under appropriate directives; Collaborating with the End of Lease and Technical Services teams to maximize the potential of the returning lease base. Building and enhancing supplier relationships. Processing and disposing of assets by retaining stock with potential for retail appeal within three months of arrival. Pre-marketing equipment not fit for retail clients and disposing of remaining stock through wholesale or other channels. Developing promotions using low-demand stock priced between wholesale and retail to attract new strategic clients. Identifying retail and reseller options for assets, including collaborating with internal sales teams to discover sales channels. Developing additional sales resources to support organizational growth. Designing and executing the 2nd Life strategy, which includes achieving sales targets, expanding brand presence, preparing for European 20% refurbished requirements, increasing enterprise client base, and establishing incentive structures for remarketing channels and staff. Managing the physical custodianship of end-of-lease and acquired stock. Procuring suitable equipment for 2nd Life retail clients when there is insufficient end-of-lease stock. Keeping Business Development Managers and Technical Services Leads informed about valuable assets and residual values based on remarketing data. Supporting end-of-lease settlement negotiations using remarketing data. Establishing formal remarketing broker arrangements and UK channel partner agreements.
