Job Overview

To give customers great customer service and operate the till.

Responsibilities

  • Chatting to customers – giving great customer service on the till.
  • Operating the till.
  • Keeping the shop floor clean and tidy.
  • Accepting donations from members of the public.
  • Assisting with stocking the shop floor.

Full training and support are given for this role – no prior experience necessary.

Skills & Qualities

No specific skills are required as full training is given. If you are a people person then this role would be ideal for you.

When & Where

Our normal ask is a four‑hour shift 9 am – 1 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm. We are very flexible and if you can only do 10 – 2 pm or even just a couple of hours that is fine with us. Come and join our Social Sundays when it is a more relaxed atmosphere and have some fun.

Our Oxfam shop is at 1 Horsemarket, Barnard Castle, DL12 8LY.

Training & Support

All training is online and is video based so is quick and easy to complete.

We pay travel expenses within reason. And if volunteering on the same shift for 5 hours or more we pay lunch expenses up to £7.00.

Barnard Castle is on a bus route and there is ample parking nearby the shop.

Hours: Minimum of 4 hours, no maximum. Type: Retail, Human Rights.
