Our weekly Digital Hub provides essential support to local residents who need help with CVs, online job searching, and building digital confidence. By volunteering, you will help people overcome barriers to employment, improve their digital independence, and feel more confident navigating online services.

Offering one‑to‑one or small‑group support within a friendly community setting. Assisting participants with:

  • Creating and updating CVs
  • Searching and applying for jobs online
  • Setting up and using email accounts
  • Using smartphones, tablets or laptops
  • Completing online forms
  • Accessing essential digital services

Explaining digital tasks patiently and clearly to beginners. Working alongside our team of staff and volunteers. Signposting participants to other services or support where appropriate. Most of the people you’ll support will have low digital confidence, may be unemployed, or may have English as an additional language. A kind, supportive approach is key.

Skills & Qualities

  • Basic digital confidence (e.g., email, job sites, forms, saving documents)
  • Ability to explain things simply and clearly
  • Patience, empathy, and a friendly manner
  • Reliability and ability to attend on Wednesdays

Helpful but not essential:

  • Experience in CV writing, job applications, or recruitment
  • Previous experience supporting adults or teaching digital skills

When & Where?

Weekly on a Wednesday, 2‑3 hours per day (depending on number of attendees). Times to be determined.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

  • Ongoing support from the Centre Development Coordinator
  • Training opportunities to build your own digital support skills
  • Out‑of‑pocket expenses reimbursed (e.g., travel)
  • You will be covered by our volunteer insurance while on duty
