We are looking for friendly volunteers to help run our brand new community café. Responsibilities include welcoming customers, preparing and serving hot and cold drinks and simple snacks, taking payment, and tidying dishes and the café area. You will be working as part of a small team.
Skills & Qualities: Training will be given. Hospitality and catering experience would be good but not essential. What is important is to be a reliable member of our small volunteer team with a sociable and positive attitude.
When & Where? The Jubilee Hall is in West Rainton village, about 2 miles from Houghton and 5 miles from Durham. We are looking for volunteers for most days of the week and Saturdays.
Training and Support Offered / Expenses: Food Hygiene and Allergies training will be given. Make new friends, be part of a team, learn new skills, or revive old ones. Add a new dimension to your life.
Accessibility and Transport Info: The café will be accessible. There is free on-street parking. Public transport – the number 20 bus stops right outside, servicing Sunderland, Houghton le Spring and Durham.
