We, the Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association (CAVRA), are a voluntary resilience organisation operating within the United Kingdom, across England and Wales. We are a registered charity (no. 1194929), and our purpose is to provide backup personnel to emergency services and local authorities in various situations.

We are also available to provide support at public events and during adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or civil emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist communities in preparing for, during, and after severe weather events.
  • Collaborate with local authorities during civil or natural emergencies to assist in evacuations and manage rest centres.
  • Support the NHS during times of severe pressure within the health system by undertaking administrative and support roles.
